Met David Cook Again :)

One of these days my hair's gonna look decent in a picture.

Oh well. David's beautiful enough for the both of us. :)

I had VIP tickets so I got to see the sound check and meet him before the concert. We actually had a little conversation this time, much better than the conversation we had in Nashville which was just me saying "hey" and him replying "hey."  Fortunately my hoodie turned out to be a good conversation starter because it's not like I can think around him... lol.

One of my videos from the show:

Love this guy.
Hope to see (and meet!) him again.

Oh...yeah... almost forgot...

I got the rights back on Books 3 & 4 in my Blood Revelation series and uploaded them to Smashwords and Kindle so they will be available on all ereaders soon. Already available on Kindle.

I realized last night that there were error s with Siren's Snare so I fixed them and re-uploaded it. Sorry to those who already purchased. :(  I believe you can upload updated versions through Manage My Kindle.  Just hoping I don't get some bad reviews on that. :(  I love self-pubbing but formatting and editing can be problematic.

I am going to go back through Witch's Net and Little White Lies too, just to make triple sure I didn't miss anything on those.

These will be my last new releases for 2013 but I plan to get quite a few things out in 2014:

Moonlit Majesty
A Cook County book
1-2 Blood Rev books
1-2 books in a new YA series
LSAYD (paranormal romance)
Redemption (contemporary romance)

Oh, if you haven't read the first 2 books in the Blood Revelation series you can get them on Kindle. However, if you want to pick up with Witch's Net or Siren's Snare since they are cheaper,  they have the backstory sprinkled in.

If you know anything about me at all, you know I'm a huge David Cook fan and gave been since his days on Idol.
Last night I went to my 3rd DC concert, this one in Nashville. I drove 3 hours to see him and it was well worth it.

At the end of the show he came out to meet EVERYONE.  I finally got to meet him. Yes, I remained calm. LOL

Here are some of my videos from the show and of course the moment I met him:

Little White Lies is now available at Amazon.

It'll be exclusive to Kindle for 3 months, then available on Nook as well. I do this exclusivity because I get a higher royalty rate during the months my books are exclusive and the fact is, I just don't sell a lot on Nook. Not sure why that is, but it's a bummer.

This is the cover chosen for the Kindle edition. After the mixed feedback received on covers, I decided to go with this one for Kindle. I'll use a different one for Nook, and if I release in print, I'll choose a different one for that.

This is actually the second book I ever wrote, and the first written as "romance."  It was a hard sell as the hero and heroine were 19 and 15 when they got together and their relationship resulted in a teenage pregnancy. I'm thankful for self-publishing so I can sell this story.

I just can't do the cookie cutter romance. Whatever I write, it comes out with a dark side to it. I have to have something real. I enjoy reading the happy, bubbly love stories, too, but let's face it. We read romances because we want to believe in second chances. We want to believe that no matter how badly a relationship has been screwed up, no matter how dire the circumstances, no matter how poor the choices or horrible the mistakes,  it can be saved.

Those are the stories I write. I drag my poor characters through hell to show that no matter what, there is always hope.

Just wanted to give an update on the status of ... well, everything.

Moonlit Majesty is still in process of being written.

Editing over 500 pages of manuscript to release Little White Lies, a romantic suspense.

Just found out the editor/publisher for my Blood Revelation series passed away Sunday night. This is very sad as Linda Kichline was a very sweet woman and far too young to leave us so soon. The authors have not yet heard what is to become of our works published with Imajinn. I imagine we will probably get our rights back. If so, I will be self-publishing the series rather than finding a new publisher. Two of the books in the series have been published already, with two more complete and ready to be published so if I get the rights back I will have those out as soon as I upload and get the cover art finished. Again, we have not been advised of anything and given the suddenness and  unexpectedness of this situation, I don't know when we will know anything but I will update as soon as I know something. Right now, just praying for Linda's family through this hard time. :(

As for me,  I have been very sick for quite a while and only seems to be getting worse. Went to doctor today where I was poked, prodded and apparently even pregnancy tested despite having tubes tied ten years ago and not doing ANYTHING to get pregnant in so long I can't even remember. Coulda saved the doc some trouble on that one but whatever. LOL. Sorry, gotta laugh through hard times in order to not totally lose it.

Anyway, it's a struggle but gotta keep pressing on. I am doing my best to write/edit as much as possible on days I can make it through work. Sadly, on days I can't make it to or through work I pretty much can't do anything but be sick. If I'm lucky, I sleep.

Hopefully the results of today's blood work will give us some answers as to what is going on with me. I just know I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I promise I will get new material out as soon as I possibly can.

Moonlit Watcher Now Available In Audio Format

Moonlit Watcher was just released in audiobook format today:

It is available at right now, and should be hitting other retailers (Amazon, iTunes, etc ) soon. Moonlit Dream has been recorded and the lovely Liona Gem is working on Moonlit protector. Once done and they surpass the review process, all will be available individually and together as The Moonlit Trilogy.

The Fire Still Burns has been recorded and is going through the site's review process now. I expect its release within 20 days if all goes well.

Why I've been MIA

Why I am not writing... or doing much of anything. In fact, I am pecking this out with 1 finger. Keep in mind it barely shows up in the pic and is covering 99% of my body. This is what allergic reaction to medication looks like. What it feels like is HELL. I preferred last week when the bad meds knocked me out and I slept all day and night though both weeks have SUCKED. Zombie-state trumps physical pain though.

I still plan on getting Moonlit Majesty and LSAYD out within the next month or two , provided I can get rid of this and get back to normal, or whatever passes as normal for me.

Now on Nook...

Moonlit Trilogy is now available on Nook with a snazzy updated cover. I originally published the paperback version on Amazon and am not sure if there is a way to get it over to too...   Bear with me, peoples. Still figuring all this stuff out.
I plan on releasing The Fire Still Burns over to Nook by June and possibly releasing some things onto iTunes and Kobo, etc.
The problem is the only way I've figured out how to do release my work EVERYWHERE is to go through Smashwords, and oh my goodness. I can't even understand whatever language their formatting guide is in. LOL!
Sure, there are plenty of "$##!@^!@&!^@^*!*@* moments involved in uploading books to Kindle and Nook, believe me, but Smashwords is a whole 'nother beast!

Hopefully I'll get it figured out eventually or make enough money writing that I can hire someone who knows how to do all the formatting stuff for me.

Up Next:

Working on The Redemption of Katie Rowe ,  a contemporary romance. Hoping to have it completed within the next month. Then it's on to a paranormal romance/slightly dark chick-litty vampire novel I had started on a few years ago, and after that... Moonlit Majesty!

I kind of want to frame this. Being ranked #25 in fantasy and futuristic romance is awesome on its own, but look at my neighbors!!!! Too cool!

Moonlit Madness

Finished, edited, and published Moonlit Protector, the third novella in the Moonlit series.

Since I've had some people complain that they don't do the e-reader thing and want books in print, I also combined the three novellas into a print release: The Moonlit Trilogy.

Now everyone can be happy :)  Both covers were designed by my daughter and I. I'm very excited and nervous about Moonlit Protector. It is the first self-published book of mine that was not previously published by a traditional publisher.
Hoping everyone enjoys it!
All of the Moonlit books will be released as audiobooks as well; individually and as Moonlit Trilogy.

Cover Twins :)

Whenever you use stock art, you know you're going to find your "hero" and "heroine" on someone else's cover, but I really didn't expect to find "Adam & Brynn" on Jill Shalvis's cover. I figured that publisher used models.

Anyway, I love Jill Shalvis so this is pretty cool:

New Moonlit Covers!

Just thought I'd reveal the next two Moonlit covers created by your favorite mother and daughter team. :)

Moonlit Protector, the third novella in the series, should be out in the next few weeks, and Moonlit Majesty, the first full length novel in the series, will be out later this year!

March Rawked!!!

OK, so I don't know exactly what happened but I sold over 6000 copies books between The Fire Still Burns and the Moonlit novellas.
I have worked so long and hard at being able to make a living from writing and it finally seems attainable!
The money I made last month is enough to get me to Baltimore this summer, the place I've wanted to go for so many years!
I'm going this summer and can not wait!
I hope the sales keep up. I have dreamed my whole life of being able to write full-time and I am so ready to "retire" and write full-time.
I can't get over the success of this past month. My first time ever being on a Top 100 list on Amazon and I actually had THREE books on Top 100 lists at the same time! And I have a Top 100 Amazon Author Ranking !!!!!!!!
Thank you sooooooo much to everyone who bought my books and  a bigger thanks to those who left such wonderful reviews! You are the best!

Great New Young Adult Trilogy!

My friend, Christle Gray, has combined all three of her Hell House novellas into one anthology: Hell House Volume One

Three great novellas for just $2.99. Get it now!

Rain Is A Very Tired Girl

This month has been unreal.  I never thought I would put a re-release up at Amazon and have it sell like it has.
Moonlit Watcher has sold over 1000 copies in 12 days. I love this. It's the first step in a dream I've had my whole life:  the dream to write fulltime, answering to no one but myself. Free to sleep all day and write all night, which just works better for me than conforming to normal business hours to hold down a job. I'm nocturnal. Always have been.
I know I need to release more new material so I am working on a few projects. I was already working on a YA novel when I released Moonlit Watcher and I absolutely love this project. However, it will be released under "Rain Love" so I don't know if that is the right move for me now. I figure I should continue building up my real name of Crystal-Rain Love. However, I already have 7 released books under my real name. For some reason, Moonlit Watcher is the one that took off.
Moonlit Dream is actually Book #1 in the Moonlit series but it hasn't sold anywhere near as many copies as Moonlit Watcher although it's the first in the series and is the same price. I don't get it. Is it because the heroine on the cover is Asian? Do Asian/Caucasian romances not sell as well as Black/White romances?  Is it just that the Moonlit Watcher cover is so awesome people are grabbing it up based on that? Is it the writing in the preview?
I don't know.
I just hope that the 1000's of readers giving Moonlit Watcher a try come back for more of my stories, whether it be the novellas or full length;  vampires, werewolves or cowboys; interracial or not. :)
I like variety and I will continue to write a variety of work. I hope my readers will like this and this wonderful month not turn out to be a fluke.
So ... I am working. I put in my 8 hours at the day job and I try to write as much as I can inbetween working the day job and caring for three kids. I hope it pays off, that I have more than one story reach the Top 10 and Top 100 charts on Amazon, and I can finally achieve my dream of working fulltime creating the stories I love to tell.
Until then... Gosh, I wish I had more time to sleep. :)

Moonlit Watcher Made The Paranormal Romance Top 100 !

OMG!  I was super excited just to make Amazon Kindle's Romance Short Stories category, but as of this morning, Moonlit Watcher has broke into the overall Paranormal Romance Top 100 list!  It was at #87 two hours ago. It has already slipped down to 95 so may slip right on out, but I made it!!!!

It is currently #22 in Romance Short Stories. I haven't yet made it past #21 in that category, but that's still pretty awesome.

Moonlit Watcher #63 Now!!!

Just checked and Moonlit Watcher is now #63 in the Kindle Romance Short Stories category on Amazon.  I can't get over it! :)

I've been planning on doing a third in the series , possibly more. With the success of this one, I think I'm going to have to rearrange my writing plan to get the third Moonlit installment out sooner.

Speaking of getting new material out, I just submitted my cover art and  information sheet for Cook County: Lucky In Love to my publisher. Just as soon as I get the cover art and release date for that one, I'll be sure to share it right away!

2013, So Glad To See You!

I have to say that 2012 was one of my worst years. I have never been a big celebrator of New Year's. I don't drink or socialaize, so what do I care about a night where everyone wants to just get drunk and party? In the past, I have actually considered New Year's to be my most hated holiday. That would be because in the past, I have spent every New Year's Eve recounting all the bad things that had happened prior to then and anticipating how bad the next year was going to be. Not this time. Around October, something happened. I was severely depressed for quite a while. I've never been so upset that I went an entire week without eating, but I hit a very low point this year and did just that. I think I had allowed things to pile up for so long that it just took one more thing to break me and eventually it happened. But in getting broken, I came to some realizations. People hurt me because I let them. I cry because I don't replace the tears with a smile. My world is ugly because ugliness is all I let in. I have so many blessings but all my life, I've been the type to focus on the bad, to wallow in the hurt and misery. I was sadder than I've ever been this year,, but I took a look around me. I saw mothers who had survived the loss of children, other mothers worrying about their babies struggling to live, children abused, and people with barely enough food to eat. I have three wonderful children. I have a roof over my head, and food on the table. I have no reason to be sad. Bad things happen. Pain is inevitable, but focusing on it only makes it hurt more. I couldn't wait for 2013 to get here because when the clock struck midnight... I let all the bad go. I said my goodbyes to anyone who I knew did not care about me. I threw away regrets. I turned a 34-year old frown into a smile for once in my life. And tonight I wrote. I didn't care what I wrote, as long as I was writing something. I will write something every day. I'm not going to set a daily word count and feel like a failure if I don't hit it. I'm just going to write and know that each day I have done something. I'm going to Baltimore. I'm not going to look it up on the internet and think how I'll visit "someday". The date is set. I am paying in advance for the hotel and the places we will visit. I am GOING. I'm going to be happy. . . because happiness is mine. I am done letting it be taken from me. So no matter what happens in 2013... It is going to be a great year.
